Tips for a Good Spam Score

  1. Write natural subject lines - avoid ALL CAPS and excessive punctuation
  2. Balance images and text - don't send image-only emails; include real text content
  3. Limit links - keep to 5-8 links maximum
  4. Always include an unsubscribe link - this is also legally required (CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
  5. Avoid spam trigger words - especially in subject lines. Use "complimentary" instead of "free", "opportunity" instead of "buy now"
  6. Don't hide content - never use invisible text or tiny fonts
  7. Use professional formatting - avoid excessive red text or all-bold paragraphs

Limitations

  • The checker analyzes content before link tracking is applied, so your tracking URLs won't affect the score
  • This is a rules-based analysis, not an inbox placement test. Real deliverability also depends on your sender reputation, authentication (DKIM/SPF/DMARC), and recipient engagement
  • For comprehensive deliverability monitoring, see the Deliverability Dashboard
