Mixpanel
Mixpanel is a product analytics destination. Joryio forwards the events you choose - from your app, website and messaging (sends, opens, clicks and more) - into your Mixpanel project in near real time, so you can analyse them next to your product data.
The Mixpanel integration is a Data Streaming destination. The setup is the same as for every stream, so it is described once, on the Data Streaming page:
- What you need: your Mixpanel Project Token and your project's Region (US, EU or India). No service account or API secret is needed. See Connection fields.
- Setting it up: go to Data → Data Streaming, click Create Stream, pick Mixpanel and choose the events to send. See Creating a Stream.
What arrives in Mixpanel
- Each event keeps its Joryio event name and properties, and the contact's user ID is sent as Mixpanel's
distinct_id. - Events that belong to no single contact (for example, campaign-level events) are not sent, because Mixpanel needs a user for every event.
- Each event carries a stable ID as
$insert_id, so Mixpanel removes the rare duplicate delivery itself. See Delivery guarantees and duplicates.
